Summary
DearClaw offers a free tier and paid plans. Running Claws and using AI features consumes credits. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe, renew automatically, and can be cancelled at any time with effect at the end of the current billing period. This page explains how billing works; current prices and plan details live on the pricing page.
Plans and pricing
The free tier lets you try DearClaw within a one-time usage allowance. Paid plans add monthly credits, more Claws, and more capacity. The prices, included usage, and features for each plan are shown on the pricing page and may change over time as described below. Launch prices are the amounts actually charged; regular prices shown alongside them are public list prices.
Credits and usage
Activity that uses AI models — running a Claw, analyzing a file, continuing a conversation, or generating an output — consumes credits. Paid plan credits are granted for the active billing period and reset at each billing-period boundary. Unused credits do not roll over. Credits have no cash value, are not refundable, and are not redeemable except as service usage. Any “API token usage” figure shown next to a plan is a service-usage value label, not a cash balance or wallet.
Free tier
The free tier is a one-time trial of DearClaw: it currently runs for 7 days with a one-time credit grant, and trial workspaces are saved for 30 days from trial start so you can upgrade and continue from where you left off. The free tier is not a paid trial: paid subscriptions are not offered with a trial period, and paid checkout starts subscription billing immediately.
Payments and Stripe
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. DearClaw uses Stripe to manage checkout, invoices, plan changes, and payment status. We do not store full card numbers on DearClaw servers. By providing a payment method, you authorize us, through Stripe, to charge the applicable fees, including recurring charges, until you cancel.
Billing cycle and renewal
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Your subscription renews automatically at the start of each billing period using your payment method on file, at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Upgrades
Upgrading to a higher plan takes effect immediately and starts a new billing cycle: the old plan's credit period ends, any unused old-plan credits are forfeited, the new plan's full monthly credits become available, and your renewal date moves to the upgrade date. Stripe may apply unused paid time from the old plan as invoice credit toward the new plan; it is not paid out as a refund. If an upgrade payment fails, your current plan stays active and unchanged.
Downgrades
Downgrading to a lower plan takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Until then, your current plan, credits, and limits stay active, and the lower plan is shown as a pending change that you can cancel before the period ends. Upgrading while a downgrade is pending cancels the pending downgrade; cancelling the subscription takes precedence over a pending downgrade. No refund is issued for a downgrade.
Cancellation
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from your account. Cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current billing period; until then, paid access, credits, and limits remain active.
After cancellation takes effect, the account enters paid-expired retention for 30 days from the paid period end. During retention your account does not receive a new free-tier credit grant, has no run credits, and retained Claw runtimes are stopped or suspended — you can sign in and view your retained workspace state, but you cannot run model work until you resubscribe. Resubscribing during retention restores access to your retained Claws. After retention ends, data is handled under the expired-account retention and deletion policy described in the Privacy Policy.
Refunds
Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable: there are no automatic refunds for partial billing periods, unused credits, downgrades, or cancellations. The Stripe invoice credit applied toward a new plan during an upgrade (see Upgrades) is a billing adjustment, not a refund. Manual refunds may be handled by official DearClaw staff in exceptional cases. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will review your request in good faith.
Add-on credits
Additional credit purchases beyond a plan's monthly allowance are not currently available.
Taxes
Prices may not include taxes. Where applicable, sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar taxes may be added to your charges based on your location and the information you provide. You are responsible for any taxes associated with your use of DearClaw, other than taxes on our income.
Failed payments and account status
If a payment fails or a charge is reversed, we may retry the charge and limit access to keep the service reliable. If payment recovery fails and the paid subscription ends, the account enters the same paid-expired retention described under Cancellation — it is not treated as a new free trial. Your data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Price changes
We may change prices, plan limits, and credit allowances over time. For changes that affect an active subscription, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance, and the new pricing applies on your next renewal unless stated otherwise. Continued use after a price change takes effect means you accept the new pricing.
